Instructions for Removing Gum from Carpet
It’s been five seconds and that gum is officially entrenched in the carpet. An epic pop led to an immediate drop. Naturally, the gum found its way right into the fibers of the carpet. Don’t worry, Goo Gone has you covered.
Or maybe the dropped gum is long forgotten, old and dried. Someone even came along and put a boot down for good measure. Even still, Goo Gone has you covered.
Our Clean-Up Wipes make it easy to remove gum from carpet. Whether the gum is freshly popped and dropped or has been residing in the carpet for awhile; you'll be able to remove it without harming the carpet. That's the power of Goo Gone Clean-Up Wipes.
How to Remove Soft Gum from Carpet:
- Use a wipe in between your fingers and pinch the gum. The juice on the wipe will break down the gum allowing it to come unstuck, so touch as much of the gum as you can.
- Pull up along the strand of carpet, taking the gum with you.
- Repeat this process until all of the gum is removed
How to Remove Dried Gum from Carpet:
- Put an ice cube in a plastic bag and hold it on the gum for a couple minutes to loosen it.
- Use a Goo Gone Wipe to pick out the loose pieces of gum. Gently wipe across the harder areas. The juice in the wipe will break down the adhesive in the gum, but for older gum it will take some time.
- For the smallest pieces left over, place the wipe in between your fingers and pinch the gum.
- Pull up along the strand of carpet, taking the gum with you.
- Repeat this process until all of the gum is removed.
This strategy works on all kinds of carpets, including the floor of cars. It’s a safer method than others out there, because Goo Gone Clean-Up Wipes won’t break down the base of the carpet.
Enjoy your gum-free carpet and next time try to pick it up within five seconds.
